Corporate Director, Quality & Patient Safety
We are looking for a registered nurse to oversee the Quality and Patient Safety department for Centra Health. This will include four hospital locations, along with many other facilities around the greater Lynchburg, Virginia area.
You will need to have your Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing and your RN license for the state of Virginia. An ideal candidate will have their Master’s Degree in Healthcare Administration, Public Health, or Nursing Leadership.

Corporate Director, Quality & Patient Safety
The Corporate Director of Quality and Patient Safety is responsible for overseeing Centra’s quality and patient safety program, the daily operations of Quality and Safety department, and promotion of safety culture, high reliability concepts, and performance excellence. They are responsible for the accurate, timely submission of CMS required quality reporting as well as reporting to other external agencies such as Leapfrog, Anthem QHIP, etc. The Director works collaboratively and in partnership with the medical staff, executive team, clinical and nursing leadership, and other stakeholders to ensure the highest levels of quality care, and patient safety. A key aspect of this role is to maintain active participation with our Patient Safety Organization, ensuring compliance to all requirements as demonstrated in our Patient Safety Evaluation System. The leader ensures compliance with our safety event response process including incident review, safety event investigations, reporting, and follow-up monitoring. Provides support and training for safety culture and quality improvement tools and techniques. This position supports the dissemination of accurate, meaningful quality and patient safety data across the enterprise to drive unit, division, and organization level performance. Facilitates and actively participates in process improvement activities to address performance gaps.
Qualifications/Education/Licensure:
Required: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing
Preferred: Master’s Degree in Healthcare Administration, Public Health, or Nursing Leadership
Hold a current, active license as a registered nurse in Virginia or hold a current multistate licensure privilege as a registered nurse.
