Job Summary

Director of Quality

We are looking for a candidate with quality experience to step into the role of Director of Quality at North Florida Regional Medical Center. You will report to the VP of Quality at this 510 bed facility and will supervise a team of 5 quality professionals.

You will need your post graduate Degree in Nursing or a healthcare related field, or you must be in the process of completing it. You will be required to have your CPHQ OR CHCQM. A minimum of 3 years of Quality management experience and 5 years of hospital-based experience is required, and an RN license in the state of Florida is preferred.

Job Summary:
The Quality Manager oversees the day-to-day functions of the Quality Department under the supervision of the VP of Quality Improvement.

Essential Functions:
Responsibilities include abstracting clinical / demographic data, preparing reports including graphs, compliance with federal, state and other regulatory organizations rules and regulations and tasks related to the overall quality improvement plan including patient safety.
Maintains all documentation according to laws that supports and defines organizational-wide quality improvement processes, plans and policies, as outlined in the medical staff bylaws and organizational wide policies and procedures.
Compile data from reports and inputs into a spreadsheet format for presentation to committees utilizing Excel, Word, and/or PowerPoint as appropriate.
Coordinate committees and/or meetings including scheduling, creating agendas, taking & transcribing minutes, providing reminder calls, etc. and other duties necessary for successful meetings as requested.
Support improved outcomes by emphasizing both appropriate behaviors and robust systems that include concise accountability measures and follow-up.
Coordinates tracking and reporting of clinical outcomes, and follow-up of corrective action plans.
Assists with coordination of quarterly (or more often as necessary) Quality Council Meetings.
Assist the Patient Safety Director with administering the Patient Safety Program on a day to day basis.
Provides in-service training to staff in the area of quality assurance/performance improvement.
Promotes and displays a positive customer oriented demeanor to patients, visitors, staff, and physicians
Actively seeks ways to control costs without compromising patient safety, quality of care, or the services delivered.
Reviews Quality Improvement tools and surveys and provides technical assistance to staff.
Prepares Quality Improvement reports and statistics.
Other duties as assigned.

Education:
Associates Degree in Nursing required
Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Healthcare Related Field preferred
5+ years of clinical and/or healthcare management preferred

Licenses/Certifications:
Registered Nurse – Currently licensed as a registered professional nurse in the state in which he or she practices, in accordance with law and regulation. State of Florida license or appropriate compact licensure. If Florida is not the primary State on the multi-state license must establish Florida as primary on license within 90 days of hire or within 90 days of establishing residency in Florida (whichever is sooner) required
Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) within 12 months of hire required
