We are looking for a Quality professional to step in as the Chief Quality Officer at Palo Pinto General Hospital in Mineral Wells, Texas. You will manage the Quality department and will directly supervise the Director of Infection Control, Quality Coordinator, and Medical Staff Coordinator at this 48 bed hospital, which has an average daily census of 24. You will also manage Quality at Rural Health Clinics, an OP Rehab, and a Heart Center and will report to the Chief Executive Officer at Palo Pinto.
You will be required to have your Texas RN license, and a CPHQ or similar is preferred. You must have your Master’s degree in Nursing and five years of quality management experience in a hospital setting. Candidates with no director level experience must have their CPHQ and have heavy JC survey experience. They have Rural Health Clinics, an OP Rehab, and Heart Center.

PPGH also operates a mobile healthcare clinic called Bridge to Health. They offer a pulmonary telehealth clinic that helps address disease that’s a major cause of mortality in Palo Pinto County. They operate school-based telehealth services; and for back-to-school, they partner with campuses to provide physical exams for students. Their network offers immediate and primary care with diagnostic assessments, women’s services, men’s health, lab draws, and more with several convenient locations.

Palo Pinto General Hospital - CQO
Job Summary: Responsible for managing PPGH’s quality programs including oversight of the following programs: Quality Management, Performance Improvement, Risk Management, Medical Staff Services, and Infection Control.
Acts as the facilitator and resource on standards set by regulatory and accrediting organizations such as Joint Commission, CMS, the credentialing process of the medical staff, quality management concerns, data collection and analysis, and process improvement methods.
Required skills (if applicable): Broad knowledge of regulatory agency standards (Joint Commission, CMS);experience in performing root-cause analysis and other problem solving activities to identify effective corrective actions and process improvements. Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures and statistical processes. Proficient in Microsoft Office products. Prior experience with the computer program Meditech preferred. Ability to interact with administration, the medical staff, all hospital personnel, regulatory agencies, and as necessary, patients and families.
Required license/certification: Current Texas Registered Nursing license. CPHQ or other nationally recognized quality management certification preferred.
Required minimum education: Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing. MSN required.
Required minimum experience: Minimum of five years experience in quality management in a hospital setting. Must have been in a Director role.

Job titles reporting to this position: All QA/Risk Management/Medical Staff Services Staff and Infection Control.
